Who are the Met Gala 2022 hosts? Ryan Reynolds leads celeb co-chairs

The tragic 2020 cancelation and last year’s scaled-down version, means the 76th Met Gala is even more anticipated than ever.

Dubbed the “Oscars of Fashion,” the Met Costume Institute Gala, or Met Gala for short, is one of the year’s biggest events for both clothes-conscious and celeb-watchers alike.

The night will witness some of the world’s most recognizable names—and faces— sashay up the steps of one of Manhattan’s most opulent buildings, as they flaunt outrageous and extravert designer looks, while vying for attention from the hordes of photographers gathered outside.

But with much of the event’s details, such as the attendees, kept under wraps until the last minute, many Met Gala fans are already asking who will be hosting the 2022 event. Read on to find out.

Who Is Hosting The Met Gala 2022?

Anna Wintour, the editor of legendary fashion bible Vogue, has run the Met Gala since 1995, curating the A-list event into the much-loved annual celebration of fashion recognized around the world.

Annually, the Gala is hosted by a group considered by Wintour to represent the zeitgeist of the world we live in right now.

As a result, the 2022 Met Gala will be co-chaired by American actress Regina King, actors Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, in addition to Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Arguably the most intriguing aspect of this choice for hosting duties is Lively and Reynolds, as they are married with three children, making them one of Hollywood’s bona fide power couples.

This quartet will be joining honorary co-chairs, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) president and designer Tom Ford, Instagram chief Adam Mosseri and Miss Met Gala herself, Anna Wintour.

Who Else Will Be Attending This Year’s Met Gala?

Tradition dictates only the elite will make the exclusive attendee list and an appearance at the Met Gala 2022.

Those granted access will as usual include the apogee of fashion and culture, most likely ranging from Hollywood actors and the models of the moment, as well the very hottest designers, stylists, and other innovative entrepreneurs.

Although those people scheduled to host this year’s Met Gala have already been confirmed, those celebrities expected to strut their stuff along the red carpet are unconfirmed.

When discussing the secrecy associated with the Met Gala, Vogue notes this extends to what occurs on the night itself, stating: “For this reason, guests must abide by the no phone (and, therefore, no social media) policy.”

The Met’s guest list is customarily kept top-secret until the very last minute, in a bid to make the arrivals that little bit more dramatic.

However, reality TV doyen Kim Kardashian and her latest beau Pete Davidson are expected to make their couple’s debut at the Met Gala.

Kardashian has been a fixture at the event for years, flaunting ensembles designed to break the internet.

Despite remaining coy about the plans, Kardashian dropped some rather heavy hints about her plans to attend the 2022 Met Gala with comedian Davidson, telling Access Hollywood: “You’re going to have to wait and find out [if we attend together]. I think we’re still figuring it out!”

Then discussing the no-doubt show-stopping look she is readying, she said: “I think [if I go], it will be up to the last minute, because it can’t be tailored. So I have to fit in it exactly. So we will see if I can shape-shift for the night.”
