EAST KERRY COISTE NA NÓG UNDER 15 DIVISION 4B

Fossa 1-15

Gneeveguilla 3-7

Paddy O’Leary Memorial Park Gneeveguilla played host to this keenly contested final on Wednesday evening.

James Doyle opened the scoring for the home side by pointing a free. Fossa then took over with some strong play hitting five points in a row, forwards Ronan Bennett, Tadgh Kissane, Cathal Breen as well as impressive midfielder Ted O Gorman (two frees) all contributed.

Gneeveguilla were then awarded a penalty which was well goaled by James Doyle. After the water break Gneeveguilla saw some good play rewarded with James Doyle adding a goal and point from play.

Doyle then finished a good move to the net to claim a first half hat-trick of goals. Fossa kept within four points of the home side as Ted O Gorman added two further frees. Half-time score Gneeveguilla 3-2 to Fossa 0-9.

At the beginning of the second half Doyle and O’Gorman traded points before Fossa took a real hold of the game. Ted O’Gorman had three points and a penalty goal in this period and Seán O’Donovan added a point to see Fossa lead by three at the water break.

Doyle and O’Donovan then swapped two points as the play flowed from end to end. Cathal Breen the scored a fine point for Fossa before a grandstand finish from a gallant Gneeveguilla which reaped two pointed frees from James Doyle and only the outstanding efforts from Fossa defenders kept a double goal chance for the home side.

Relief at the final whistle from the visitors who had some great performances on the night and probably a more balanced side over all.

Special mention to James Doyle who scored all his side scores on the night.
