90 Day Fiance comes to TLC for Season 9 on Sunday, April 17, with a two-hour “countdown to the new season” starting at 6 p.m. ET, before we meet this year’s couples at 8 p.m. ET.
Season 9 of the show will have seven couples.
Six of these are brand new to the TLC franchise, while one of them has previously featured on 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, but this year are looking to make their relationship work in America.
The couples may be new, but the format is the same: the couples apply for the K-1 visa which allows their foreign fiance(e)s to enter the country, and then they have just 90 days to decide whether to get married, or for one of them to go back to their home country.
Meet the Couples of 90 Day Fiance Season 9
Bini, 31, and Ari, 30
Ethiopian Bini will be joining Ari in Princeton, New Jersey after a few seasons worth of drama on The Other Way.
After the pair met crossing the street on that show and they had a child, Ari moved to Ethiopia. But when that child needed surgery, Ari went back to New Jersey. The long distance put a strain on things, but at the start of 90 Day Fiance they are still determined to get married.
Kara, 29, and Guillermo, 23
Guillermo and Kara met in the Dominican Republic, where the latter was on a work trip and the former (born in Venezuela) was living.
The pair lived in that country together until the pandemic sent Kara home, and now they are going to try and make it work in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Kobe, 34, and Emily, 29
Kobe from Cameroon and Emily from Salina, Kansas had a whirlwind romance in China. They got engaged within two weeks, and where hoping the process to bring Kobe to the United States would be quick and simple.
That was before two years of pandemic-related delays. Now, Kobe is heading to be reunited with his fiancee, and to meet his son for the first time.
Miona, 23, and Jibri, 28
Pre-pandemic, Serbian Miona and Rapid City, South Dakota resident Jibri were used to traveling the world together after Jibri picked Miona out of the audience of one of his band’s shows.
Miona was hoping to join her fiance in Los Angeles, but Jibri has just moved home to a much smaller town than his lover is expecting.
Mohamed, 25, and Yvette, 48
Egyptian Mohamed slid into Yvette’s DMs, and the pair got engaged after finally meeting in person. So far, their age gap has not been an issue, but that could all change when Mohamed comes to Albuquerque, New Mexico and has to not only make it work with Yvette but also her 12-year-old son with special needs.
Patrick, 31, and Thais, 25
Thais was Patrick’s Portuguese teacher during numerous trips to Brazil. But will he be able to teach her how to get along in his native Austin, Texas? And will the pair be able to succeed where Patrick’s previous marriage failed?
Shaeeda, 37, and Bilal, 42
The quickest of the engagements on this year’s 90 Day Fiance, Bilal proposed after the pair had spent a week together in Trinidad and Tobago.
They may have found love on an island paradise, but things are likely to be very different in Kansas City, Missouri, where Bilal has two kids, and where Shaeeda is living out of her parents’ home for the first time.
90 Day Fiance Season 9 airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on TLC.
