COVID-19 vaccines are widely available in the U.S., but the number of people signing up to get the shot is starting to slow down.
National vaccination rates are dropping across the country to fewer than one million shots administered per day, according to analysis by The Washington Post. This marks a decline of more than 70 percent from the national peak of 3.4 million shots per day administered in April. Some areas of the U.S. are experiencing lower vaccine uptake levels too, including Alabama.
While scientists and government officials continue to emphasize the health and safety benefits of the COVID-19 vaccine, businesses are using give-aways to encourage people to have the shot. So what freebies can you get if you flash a vaccination card?
If you get your shot at a CVS in a Target location, you can get a $5 credit for in-store purchases. Visit CVS.com to check availability and schedule your COVID-19 vaccine appointment. After you receive your vaccine you’ll get a $5 Target coupon to spend on in-store purchases of $5 or more.
You can get a free beer on the house if you’ve had your vaccination. Go to the website ABeerOnBud.com, upload proof that you got your vaccine, such as a selfie or photo, to claim your free drink. You’ll receive a $5 virtual debit card that can be used to buy a beer at a bar.
Connecticut is also giving out free drinks at over 100 restaurants when people buy food and show their vaccination cards.
Show your vaccination card at any Krispy Kreme store in the U.S. for a free original glazed doughnut. The offer is valid all year long and there is no limit to the number of times you can claim your prize too.
Showing your vaccination card at any Shake Shack location in the U.S. will get you a free order of crinkle-cut fries. Customers have to buy a burger or chicken sandwich to get the deal, which will be available until June 12.
Missing vacations? United is giving away round-trip flights for two every day in June. On July 1, five grand-prize winners will get a year’s worth of free flights for themselves and a companion. The winners will be able to fly anywhere—and in any class—that United flies. You must be a member of United’s MileagePlus loyalty program to take part.
Lyft and Uber are offering free or discounted trips to and from vaccination centers for anyone who has booked a shot but is struggling to get there.

The Mint Dispensary in Phoenix is offering free edibles to customers over the age of 21 who have had their vaccination and show their card. In addition, California’s Lowell Herb Co. is offering a limited edition joint called “The Selfless Sativa” for one cent.

Nathan’s Hot Dogs
If you’re feeling hungry after your shot, Nathan’s is offering a free hot dog on the same day of your vaccine at their Coney Island location in Brooklyn, New York.
Ohio is giving away five full scholarships to any in-state college or university for residents between the ages of 12 and 17 who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The scholarship money will come from a pot of federal COVID-19 relief funds.
