Watford fans send Troy Deeney gushing messages after Blues move

While for Birmingham City fans Troy Deeney’s arrival at St Andrew’s represents the beginning of a new era, his departure from Watford brings another very much to a close.

Watford confirmed at 6.30pm on Monday that Deeney would leave the club after 11 years and more than 400 appearances for the Hornets.

That prompted a heartfelt outpouring from the Vicarage Road faithful as he headed back to Birmingham to sign for his boyhood club.

Less than three hours later he was confirmed as a Blues player, with thousands of messages of thanks from well-wishers.
