Have you ever dreamed of working at the football club you have always supported? Well there are jobs going at Premier League football club Aston Villa.

Posts include a role as an interventions coach, football in the community officer, lecturer in sports development and a plumber. And you don’t have to be a supporter of Steve Gerrard’s team to apply.

The vacancies offer successful applicants the chance to work in a fun and vibrant environment – and, who knows, you may bump into a football star! Here are the job vacancies currently available at Aston Villa.

Football In The Community Officer

The successful applicant will be responsible for leading and delivering high quality football and multi-skills sessions across schools and the community. They will also be required to deliver high quality school sport and extra-curricular coaching sessions.

To be successful you will need an FA Level 2 qualified football coach with experience of working in a community environment and leading football or multisport sessions. It is a full time fixed contract with a salary up to £25,000. Closing date to apply is May 2.

Plumber

Aston Villa are looking for a plumber – and its not just to fix the leaky defence! The club have an opportunity for a Plumber and Gas engineer to join the Facilities and Estates Team, based at Villa Park.

The role will be responsible for supporting the Maintenance Supervisor and Head of Facilities and Estates. Duties include maintenance at the club and booking and arranging all contractors for service works. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance works at Villa Park.

The full salary hasn’t been disclosed but it says it will be an attractive remuneration package. The closing date is April 20.

Lecturer (Sports coaching and development)

A lecturer for sports coaching and development is currently being advertised. The successful applicant will be working with the Aston Villa Foundation to ensure its teaching programme is effectively delivered.

The role will be based at Villa Park and you will be responsible for the teaching, supervision, and assessment of students. You will also have to design modules.

The successful applicant will be responsible for working alongside the Aston Villa Foundation departments and Birmingham City University to plan and develop ‘guest lectures.’ You will act as a personal tutor, providing care to all students on a one-to-one basis.

The ideal candidate will be a lecturer with a first degree or higher, and relevant teaching experience across sports coaching and development. it is a fixed full time contract and salary is between £35,000 and £40,000 per year. Closing date to apply is May 2.

Interventions Coach

The role entails delivering coaching sessions at schools and other community venues. You will need have the ability to engage and inspire young people by delivering sport and workshops, including in the evening and weekends.

The role will also include mentoring vulnerable and ‘at-risk’ young people and engaging marginalised communities through outreach work. You will need relevant qualifications such as a level 2 in Sport or youth work practices.

Pay is £9.90 to £16.71 per hour on a fixed variable hours contract. The closing date is May 2.

Maintenance Technician

The role will be to ensure that all function rooms and facilities are kept in excellent conditions as well as planning maintenance. This will include general day to day maintenance, project work and other maintenance duties The work will be over both sites of Villa Park and Aston Villa’s Training Ground.

You will need to hold a driving license, be able to work weekends and unsociable hours and you must hold a minimum of a City and Guilds, Level 2 Certification. Salary is between £24,000 and £28,000. It is a fixed permanent contract and closing date is April 17.
