Piers Morgan still has fatigue and no taste or smell weeks after catching Covid

Former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan has admitted he is still experiencing “shocking fatague” three weeks after contracting Covid at Wembley.

The 56-year-old believes he caught the Delta variant of Covid-19 while watching the UEFA EURO 2020 Final on July 11, reports the Daily Star.

Despite being double vaccinated, he came down with fever, cold sweats, coughing, sneezing, “strange aches” and “alarming” chest pains, though they have now faded.

He has now tweeted that he’s still not managed to shrug off the effects of the virus.

Piers said: “Day 18 since covid symptoms started and still have shocking fatigue and little taste/smell.

“Anyone else who got virus after being fully vaccinated having same ‘journey’?”

Piers attended the match, which saw Italy defeat England, with his sons Stanley, Spencer and Albert.

But he complained that it soon became an “unregulated free-for-all” when people without tickets managed to breach security and get into the stadium.

Writing in his Mail on Sunday column, he said: “My confidence that the event would be ‘Covid safe’ had disintegrated.”

Two days after the event, Piers began to feel unwell and a lateral flow test came back positive, before he tested positive on a PCR test too.

“This is definitely the roughest I’ve felt from any illness in my adult life, but, as I slowly come out the other side, coughing and spluttering,” he wrote at the time

“I’m still here – unlike so many millions around the world who’ve lost their lives to Covid in this pandemic.”

He said he owes “a heartfelt debt of thanks” to the creators of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
