New Strictly pro Jowita Przystał’s surprising Broadway career and Strictly links

Jowita Przystał waltzed onto TV screens as one of Strictly Come Dancing’s four new professional dancers last month.

She might not have a celebrity partner in this series, but the new Strictly pro dancer has impressed viewers with her performances in the professional dancers’ routines as well as her bubbly personality on It Takes Two.

But eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed that Strictly Come Dancing isn’t Jowita’s first TV appearance, with the Polish pro having already won another popular dancing competition.

Who is Jowita Przystał?

Jowita Przystał is a professional dancer and choreographer, currently appearing on Strictly Come Dancing series 19.

The 27-year-old made her first steps into dance when she was just 12-years-old, going on to become the Polish Open Latin Champion in 2014.

Jowita and her dancer partner Michael Danilczuck have performed in several Broadway musical productions, including Rock of Ages, Legally Blonde and Queen of the Desert.

In 2015, Jowita ended her competitive career in order to join the touring dance company Burn The Floor, performing in shows around the world for four years before coming to the UK.

After taking part in some of the pre-recorded professional dances in the 2020 series, Jowita officially joined Strictly Come Dancing alongside Kai Widdrington, Nikita Kuzmin, and Cameron Lombard as a pro dancer back in July.

Speaking about joining Strictly in an interview with the BBC, Jowita said: “This is my biggest dream come true. No words can describe how I feel right now.

Following her appearance in the professional dances of last year’s series of Strictly, Jowita was signed on as an official pro earlier this year.
