McDonald’s Monopoly: Prizes on offer and how to play, plus VIP loyalty cards

The McDonald’s Monopoly game has returned for the first time since 2019, and the prizes on offer are as tempting as ever.

Last year the competition was cancelled because of the pandemic, but this year it’s back and there’s a new twist too: McDonald’s Gold VIP loyalty cards.

The hotly contested McDonald’s Monopoly game has offered all sorts of potentially life-changing prizes in the past – as well as many more lunchtime-changing prizes too.

McDonald’s Monopoly prizes on offer

The prizes on offer this year are reported to include:

  • An Ibiza villa

  • A UK holiday

  • A Lay-Z Spa hot tub

This year’s other prizes haven’t been confirmed yet, but in the past prizes have included:

  • £100,000 cash

  • A Mini Cooper

  • £2,000 holiday spending money

  • A PlayStation 4 console

  • Any mobile phone, plus a year’s contract

  • A £50 boohoo.com voucher

  • A medium McDonald’s meal

You might also find instant-win prizes for various items on the McDonald’s menu.

How to play McDonald’s Monopoly

Much like actual Monopoly, you get the bigger prizes for collecting sets of different colours. For instance, you’d need all three green properties – Regent Street, Oxford Street and Bond Street – to win the Mini Cooper.

Of course, fewer of these are in circulation, making them much harder to land. There are, however, loads of opportunities to win smaller prizes like McDonald’s menu items.

What are the VIP loyalty cards?

McDonalds is giving away 1,000 VIP loyalty cards as part of the Monopoly game, alongside the usual prizes.

If you get hold of one, you’ll be entitled to a free medium meal every week for a year.
