Lineker agrees with Man United fans about Trincao transfer

Francisco Trincao is becoming a favourite with Wolverhampton Wanderers fans.

The Barcelona loanee has started life at Molineux well after completing a season-long loan switch at the beginning of July.

Trincao could have scored the opening goal of the Premier League clash with Manchester United at Wolves, but he snatched at a pass from Adama Traore in front of the South Bank.

He was taken off with 20 minutes left to play for his compatriot Daniel Podence.

Once the six-cap Portugal international gets up to speed with the rigours of the Premier League and what Wolves boss Bruno Lage wants, he could be a big player for his loan club.

Trincao was loaned out by Barcelona because of the Catalan giants’ well-documented financial issues.

Signed by Braga for around £27million in January 2020, Trincao appeared just 42 times for Barca and struggled to settle at the Camp Nou.

If he continues the way he has started at Wolves, his career could flourish in the West Midlands.

England legend Gary Lineker is clearly a fan of Wolves’ move for Trincao, which included an option to make the loan transfer a permanent one in the future.

Writing on social media platform Twitter, Lineker said: “I really liked Trincao at Barcelona. A very promising young player. A good loan for Wolves.”

United fans have also praised Trinaco for his performance at Molineux, contrasting his performance with some of their own players’.

“Trincao looks like a baller,” one supporter wrote on Twitter.

Another said: “Trincao looks like a quality player.”

“Jadon Sancho and Luke Shaw are struggling with Trincao,” a third fan said while another added: “Trincao looks like a player.”

A fifth fan said: “Trincao is unplayable right now.”
