Latest Covid rate in each part of West Midlands with plan C ‘being considered’

The latest Covid rates for Birmingham and the West Midlands have been released as the country faces the prospect of a supposed plan C.

The rates – compiled from Public Health England – show cases per 100,000 people on the day Covid Plan C was mooted.

The government is reportedly discussing Plan C in early terms, and it could see a ban on households mixing and gatherings.

The figures, for the seven days to October 16, show of the 377 local areas in the UK, 306 (81%) have seen a week-on-week rise in rates, 70 (19%) have seen a fall and one is unchanged.

It reads, from left to right: name of local authority; nation or region of local authority; rate of new cases in the seven days to October 16; number (in brackets) of new cases recorded in the seven days to October 16; rate of new cases in the seven days to October 9; number (in brackets) of new cases recorded in the seven days to October 9.
