Dean Smith told to consider Cameron Archer for Premier League duties

Aston Villa youngster Cameron Archer scored a hat-trick on his first start for the club in a 6-0 Carabao Cup second round win at Barrow this evening.

The 19-year-old opened the scoring at the Dunes Hotel Stadium inside the first 10 minutes as he turned in Anwar El Ghaz i’s cross from the left wing.

As El Ghazi scored a brace himself in the first half, Archer was on hand to a fourth for Villa in the second period as Dean Smith ‘s side took the game away from their League Two hosts on the 63th minute.

Running onto El Ghazi’s through ball, Archer’s cute lob added doubled his tally for the night as the youngster made the most of the opportunity handed to him by Smith.
