Boots hiring 2,500 workers ahead of Christmas

Boots is hiring 2,500 new workers across the Midlands ahead of Christmas – and jobs could lead to an “exciting career path”.

The well-known health and beauty retailer has up to 1,000 customer advisor roles at Midlands stores – including Birmingham High Street.

Over 1,250 roles are available for Christmas Warehouse Operatives and Picker Packers at Boots’ distribution centres in Beeston and Burton-on-Trent.

These roles play a “critical role” in the distribution and delivery of orders, which Boots predict will be “extremely high” this peak season.

Another 300 roles are available at the customer support centre at Boots’ head office in Beeston, Nottingham.

Christmas Customer care advisors ensure that customers contacting Boots with any queries about their orders do not experience any delays during this busy period.

Over 4,000 Boots Christmas Customer Advisor roles are available nationwide, with up to 1,000 of these roles based at the health and beauty’s stores in the Midlands including Nottingham Victoria Centre, Leicester Fosse Park and Birmingham High Street.

The role of Boots Christmas Customer Advisors will be to help customers find the items they need and ensure shoppers receive “excellent customer experience” through the festive season.

Donna Hodgins, Head of Recruitment at Boots, said: “Christmas roles at Boots are perfect for people who are interested in exploring roles in the retail industry and gain valuable work experience at the same time.

“We’re looking for team players with a passion for customer service, whether they are helping customers in our stores or over the phone or picking and packing online orders. In return, we offer excellent training and development and meaningful benefits.

“Plus, a Christmas role can lead to a permanent position with us, so it could be the start of a new and exciting career path.”

Sam Maddocks began as a picker packer after taking a job for Christmas – he’s now the Distribution Centre Supervisor at Boots’ Burton site.

“I started at Boots as a Picker Packer at Burton in 2018 on a temporary Christmas contract,” he added.

“I really enjoyed the experience, so when a permanent role became available, I applied straight away and I’m now a supervisor with managerial responsibilities.

“I have enjoyed growing my career at Boots and working as a team with some incredible colleagues.

“If you are looking for work this winter, I would recommend trying a Christmas role at Boots – you never know where it could take you!”
