Billy Connolly Lego figures punted on eBay for £900 after fans queued for hours

Greedy eBay sellers are attempting to cash in on charity Billy Connolly Lego figures – with some listings priced as high as £900.

Shoppers queued round the block at Glasgow’s Buchanan Galleries to get their hands on the limited edition Big Yin figures ahead of the one-day sale yesterday morning.

Around 750 figures of the Scots comedy great were quickly sold out, with five different versions produced to showcase the funny man’s different stages of his illustrious career.

A total of 500 individual figures could be snapped up for a minimum donation of £10, while a further 50 full sets of all five could be picked up for as little as £50.

Around 10 listings for the figures have appeared over the past 24 hours – with some priced as high at £900

All of the proceeds from the sale went to Glasgow Children’s Hospital, which provides care for Scots kids in need of life-changing treatment.

A number of the sets have now appeared on eBay, with punters hoping to make vast sums of money from the limited edition figurines.

Around 10 sets have emerged on the online marketplace over the past 24 hours, with prices going as high as £900.

Others are going for more than £300 and £600.

Sellers have also slapped a ‘rare’ tag on the figurines in an attempt to maximise their profits from the charity collectors item.

One listing has so far receiving 34 bids, with the auction price currently standing at £310.

It is unlikely that the figurines will go on sale at the shopping centre again, as organisers warned that they would be sold at a first-come-first-served basis.

The sets have been created from genuine Lego bricks, which has been an iconic toy for children and adults across the globe for many decades.

Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity has been approached for comment.
