Aston Villa fans react to Conor Hourihane transfer

Conor Hourihane has joined Sheffield United on a season-long loan move away from Villa Park and Aston Villa fans have wished the Irishman good luck for the rest of the campaign.

Hourihane captained Villa in their 6-0 Carabao Cup win over Barrow last week – his only competitive football this season – and Villa boss Dean Smith hinted that he would be allowed to leave if the right offer arrived for club and player.

Hourihane needs regular game-time having entered the final year of his Villa contract, and Blades boss Slavisa Jokanovic will surely he give him that throughout the rest of the Championship season.

The midfielder helped Swansea to the play-off final last season after joining the Swans on loan in January, but the Villa midfielder has now likely to have made the last loan switch of his career at Villa Park.

Villa fans have been reacting to Hourihane’s move to Sheffield United, wishing him well for the rest of the season at Bramall Lane.
