Alison and Dermot flooded with criticism over This Morning announcement

Alison Hammond and Dermot O Leary have confirmed they will be taking over the reins on ITV This Morning all week.

Brummie TV star Alison is set to be hosting alongside Dermot, the former Big Brother’s Little Brother presenter, from Monday to Friday.

Alison, who shot to fame on Big Brother herself, became regular Friday host of the show back in January.

She and Dermot took over from Eamonn Holmes and his wife Ruth Langsford.

But their confirmation that they will be hosting the show all this week with regular hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield having a break has NOT gone down well among some.

Minnie fumed: “Don’t watch any more when these two are on. Alison Hammond can only be taken in small doses and Dermot is out of his depth, definitely miscast on this show. In fact Ruth and Eamonn are the best of all!”

Marek wrote: “I can put up with Alison and Dermot on Fridays, on one condition: Get rid of “brave kind Phil” and fawning Holly and bring back Ruth & Eamonn Mon-Thurs!”

Una Whiting wrote: “just heard that you’re having Alison and Dermott presenting the show all next week while Phil and Holly are off … why not Eamonn and Ruth???? …. Aren’t they supposed to be the stand in presenters???? …. Bloody mad”

“Is it just me or are these two, Alison and Dermott, becoming more irritating with every millisecond they are on air? Bring back Eamonn and Ruth! #ThisMorning ” Cameron fumed.

Spanna Monkey chipped in with: “Noooo Eamonn and Ruth are meant to do summer holidays and half terms that was the deal!!! As Alison & Dermot don’t do Fridays that week either as that’s their holiday…”
