An Alexandria mum has realised her dream of opening her own beauty salon on the banks of Loch Lomond.
Nail technician Lynne Scott could never have imagined having her own premises this time last year when Covid shut her small business down.
But the determined award-winning entrepreneur worked hard and has now opened Luscious Nails and Beauty at Lomond Shores.
She said: “Last year, I had to close for five months through the summer and that hit me really hard.
“There were so many businesses closing and I was lucky I was able to keep my head above water.
“When we opened up again I realised there were more people than ever wanting appointments and I thought it was the best time for me to make the most of this and expand.
“The wheels were set in motion looking for premises and I found a unit at Loch Lomond Shores which was perfect.
“It’s an absolute dream of mine to have a salon.”
Lynne has come a long way since a bold career change saw her give up her job with the NHS to pursue her passion doing nails.
She converted her garage at her home in Beechwood into a salon, which has become a firm favourite among locals, over three years ago,
As well as nails, the new salon has a team of staff offering a range of beauty services, from hair to massages and botox.
Lynne added: “I wanted to create a high-end one-stop shop for all your beauty needs.
“We also do make-up and we’re perfect for bridal parties. You can pop in and get pampered while enjoying a wee coffee or glass of prosecco.
“We’re trying to create an experience for people. I think people are valuing that even more as we come out of the pandemic.
“They are wanting to feel good and it does make such a difference to your wellbeing.”
It’s an exciting year ahead for Lynne, who is also a finalist in the Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards in the nail technician of the year category. She won nail salon of the year at the 2019 awards.
