Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has taken to social media after the 3-2 loss against Wolves.
Wolves however hit back with goals from Romain Saiss, Conor Coady and Ruben Neves to turn the game on its head and come away from Villa Park with an unlikely 3-2 win.
That scoreline condemned Villa to their second Premier League defeat in a row, and they will look to get back to winning ways when they take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night.
The result has resulted in a lot of celebration from Wolves fans on social media, but Agbonlahor has taken to photo-sharing platform Instagram to respond to those celebrations.
A picture shared by the former Villa man shows a Google search asking “have Wolves won the European Cup?”
The answer is of course no, with the club reaching the UEFA Cup final in 1972.
It would be a different answer for Villa who won the European Cup in 1982 and the UEFA Super Cup in 1983.
Alongside the picture, Agbonlahor wrote: “Where’s good for Sunday dinner in the Birmingham area? LOL.”
The former Villa striker also responded to a post from former Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme, who tagged Agbonlahor in a picture of Coady celebrating the equalising goal.
“What happened, I’ve been asleep?” Agbonlahor wrote on his Instagram story.
Following the match, Villa manager Dean Smith explained the mood in the dressing room.
“There was silence in the dressing room afterwards,” he said .
“We’re in tomorrow anyway and we’ll review it and talk about it. We have to put it to bed but it’s certainly three points we’ve thrown away. As I said, Wolves are a good time but we limited them to next to nothing.
“But I’m still struggling to process (the defeat) but I will and we’ll move on. My meeting before the game was asking them for a performance because our standards dropped against Tottenham. I don’t think our standards dropped today.”
