Chelsea boss Tuchel is now looking to move on the deadwood from his squad after the hefty outlay on star striker Romelu Lukaku, though the Blues do have more targets
While Chelsea have been busy this summer transfer window with new arrivals flooding into Stamford Bridge, the departures list appears to be growing as Thomas Tuchel makes way for the recent signings.
With The Blues vehement interest in 21-year-old Aurelien Tchouameni matched by Manchester United, Tuchel will be need to consider other midfield options.
But with a few players set to leave the club, this ought to keep Chelsea’s cash flow healthy which could make room for some additional signings before the end of the transfer window.
Here is the latest transfer news round-up from Stamford Bridge…

Chelsea have plans to sell a trio of their roster before the transfer window ends on August 31 st , with Tiemoue Bakayoko, Davide Zapacosta and Malang Sarr all linked to a move to Serie A clubs.
French central midfielder Bakayoko will join AC Milan on loan in his second temporary spell at the San Siro, having made 42 appearances for the Rossoneri during the 2018/19 season – scoring one goal.
Italian right-back Zappacosta first came to Stamford Bridge in 2017 on a €25m transfer from Torino, but has failed to cement his place in the club’s starting lineup during his time in London.
22-year-old defender Sarr is set to join Bologna on loan after failing to make any significant impact at Chelsea, although it is reported that the Serie A club may face competition from Everton and Benefica, who are also both keen on signing the youngster.
Rice ‘unhappy’ at £100m valuation
Chelsea have been in hot pursuit of defensive midfielder Declan Rice for some time, but the deal seems highly unlikely this season after West Ham have demanded £100m for their star player.
Having begun his youth career at Stamford Bridge, Rice departed Chelsea and headed west to join the Hammers in 2014, but has since been longing to return to his boyhood club.
Speaking in March this year, West Ham boss David Moyes said: “I don’t agree with the owners that Declan Rice is a £100m footballer. Far, far more than £100m. Far, far more.
How would you rate Chelsea’s transfer window so far? Comment below.
“I look at the players who have joined some clubs from overseas and come in and nowhere near had the impact Declan Rice would have.”
West Ham have slapped a £100m price tag on Rice this summer, which according to The Telegraph has left the midfielder unhappy.
Reported interest in Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez
Chelsea bosses are also reportedly interested in signing Spanish midfielder Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid before the end of the transfer window.
Niguez relished a successful season in the Spanish capital last year as an integral part of the squad that lifted the La Liga trophy. The 26-year-old played in 41 matches for Diego Simeone’s side and netted two goals and one assist.
But Niguez is still binded by a long-term deal that will keep him at the Wanda Metropolitano until 2026, so if Chelsea are to be successful in convincing a move to the Premier League, it is unlikely to come cheaply.
