Tilly Ramsay and Nikita Kuzmin have become attached at the hip working on Strictly Come Dancing together – but it’s nothing romantic they have claimed
Strictly Come Dancing’s Tilly Ramsay is ‘laughing off’ rumours of a romance between her and pro dance partner Nikita Kuzmin, new reports claim.
The CBBC chef has been getting close to her professional dance partner Nikita ever since they were paired up for the show, with fans hoping that love could blossom between them.
It seemed it may head that way too, with the pair pictured leaving her apartment together after a long day of Strictly rehearsals.
But despite their amazing chemistry, Nikita is firmly with his girlfriend Nicole Wirt, and Tilly reportedly has no interest in disrupting that.
In fact, their relationship is far more friendly than it is romantic.
“Tilly finds the stories really funny,” a source told The Sun Online . “Lovers? She’s been saying he’s more like a brother.
“Tilly says Nikita is literally the funniest person she’s ever met but there’s nothing at all going on behind the scenes.”
The insider added that 19-year-old Tilly has been speaking with Nicola as a friend as well, with all three on good terms together.
Nikita and Nicole have been performing together since 2016, with their careers meaning they are used to spending time apart.
In the meantime, Tilly and Nikita are focusing on the competition, with the young chef juggling rehearsals in between lectures after starting university.
On Saturday night’s movie week, the pair landed in the middle of the leaderboard after performing a Hairspray inspired jive to Nicest Kids in Town, earning 27 out of 40 points.
John Whaite and Johannes Radebe came out on top with an almost-perfect 39 out of 40 – the highest score of the series so far – with their paso doble to the theme song from Pirates of the Caribbean.
Last week, Tilly’s dad Gordon Ramsay was seen in tears as he appeared in the audience, beaming with pride as Tilly sailed high on the leaderboard with a charleston.
Gordon – known for his love of swearing and yelling in the kitchen – later blamed the emotional moment on ‘cutting onions at his table’.
While speculation around their relationship has died down, for another couple, it seems to be heating up, with AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington getting closer as they continue their winning streak on the show.
The pair have continued to impress with their performances, and insiders are claiming that they are getting closer away from the rehearsal studios too.
A show source blabbed to The Sun on Sunday: “Everyone backstage is talking about the sparks flying between AJ and Kai. It’s very passionate and intense whenever they’re together.
“They’re both single and have really hit it off and everyone on the show is saying it’s only a matter of time.”
Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday and Sunday on BBC One.
