Stranger Things fans were upset after the series’ Finn Wolfhard revealed the release date of season four.
The 18-year-old actor – who plays Mike Wheeler – was speaking to a fan on video chat when he made the casual admission.
Finn was asked when the latest series will be available, and he responded: “Season four? It should be out sometime next year, hopefully.”
After finding out they’ll have to wait an extra year to watch the beloved Netflix sci-fi, fans were naturally upset.
Taking to Twitter to share their frustration, one fan tweeted: “i was so excited for stranger things season 4 this year just to find out it doesn’t release until 2022.”
“It’s absolutely ridiculous to make angry fans wait even longer just because you wanna release it in the same season as in the show,” one angry user posted.
“They need to read the room and stop with the fluff cause people don’t care anymore.”
Considering season three was released in 2019, we understand why fans are disappointed.
“Next year? And we ain’t even had any spoilers at all? Nah man f**k this,” another wrote.
One viewer added: “I’m losing interest. I understand there’s a pandemic we’ve just had but we’ve barely had anything news related in the last year not even episode titles or some form of teaser besides hopper being alive.”
“Next year??? when season 5 hits, they’re going to be grandparents at this rate,” another joke.

Production on Stranger Things’ latest season, along with many other shows, was paused last March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Duffer Brothers, who created the show, also spoke about their excitement that Netflix had renewed Stranger Things for the final seasons.
“We are absolutely thrilled to continue our relationship with Netflix,” they opened in their statement.
“Ted Sarandos, Cindy Holland, Brian Wright, and Matt Thunell took a huge chance on us and our show – and forever changed our lives.
“From our first pitch meeting to the release of Stranger Things 3, the entire team at Netflix has been nothing short of sensational, providing us with the kind of support, guidance, and creative freedom we always dreamed about. We can’t wait to tell many more stories together – beginning, of course, with a return trip to Hawkins!”
