Mikel Arteta has spent more than any other Premier League manager in this summer’s transfer window, but Arsenal appear to still be far away from challenging for the title
The defeat to Chelsea on Sunday, in which the Blues were comfortable winners, showcased the gap between the Gunners and the title chasers.
Mikel Arteta has made five signings already this summer, having added Martin Odegaard and Aaron Ramsdale to his squad late last week.
But more incomings could be on the way as the under-pressure Gunners boss seeks to turnaround his side’s fortunes.
Here, Mirror Football rounds up the latest Arsenal transfer news…
Kolasniac set for exit
Sead Kolasinac is edging closer to bringing his Arsenal nightmare to an end after a four year stay with the Gunners.
The Bosnian international became a fan favourite in his first few seasons in London, but quickly fell out of favour under Mikel Arteta.
As if to showcase how little Arteta wanted him to stay, Kolasinac was sent out on loan to Schalke in January, despite Arsenal having just one other natural left-back in the squad.
It had been hoped that he would join the German side permanently, but those plans sank with Schalke’s relegation from the Bundesliga.
The 28-year-old is said to have agreed to give up part of the final year of his wages and is expected to join Fenerbahce on a two-year deal.

Arsenal outcast Lucas Torreira has been given an offer that will allow him to leave the Gunners this summer.
Torriera impressed in his first two seasons with the Gunners following a £26million move from Sampdoria.
But his game-time has steadily decreased under Arteta and he was sent on loan to Atletico Madrid last season.

The midfielder has spent most of the summer attempting to secure an exit, with Italy his preferred destination.
But no concrete bid has been received from an Italian club, with Gianluca Di Marzio reporting that Eintracht Frankfurt are now the frontrunners for his signature.
It is stated that the Bundesliga side have made a “formal offer” for Torreira, who is their top target as they look to boost their midfield options.
Arsenal target Asensio
Having completed a £30m move for Martin Odegaard, Arsenal are now reportedly looking to sign one of the Norwegian’s former team-mates.
Odegaard has been the Gunners’ top target of the summer window, but boss Mikel Arteta still wants to boost his squad.
One of the main areas that requires some improvement is in attacker, where Nicolas Pepe and Alexandre Lacazette have failed to live up to their hefty price tags.
It is stated that the La Liga giants are open to a deal, but it will take an offer in the region of £35m to tempt them to the negotiating table.
Asensio was a regular for Los Blancos last season, featuring in 48 games and scoring seven goals as they finished as runners-up in La Liga.
