A husband and wife have died at a property in a Cornish beauty spot.
Police and paramedics were called to reports of concern for the welfare of two people in the village of Polperro on Friday.
Devon and Cornwall Police has now confirmed that a man in his 50s and a woman in her 40s, believed to be husband and wife, have died.
Locals witnessed a large police presence outside the property on Friday, CornwallLive reports.
One person said they saw two air ambulances in attendance.
Police were called to the property at around 12.15pm yesterday.
Residents were told to expect a police presence in the area over the weekend.
However by Saturday morning it appeared that all officers had left the scene, and a cordon was removed.
A police statement about the incident said: “Police were called at 12.15pm on Friday, August 6 to a property on Langreek Lane, Polperro, following reports of concern for the welfare of two people.
“Police and ambulance crews attended the scene where a woman in her 40s and a man in his 50s were confirmed deceased.

“Their next of kins have been informed.
“Police are not currently seeking anyone else in relation to this incident.”
“A cordon remains in place and residents can expect to see officers in the area into the weekend.”
