Jennifer Aniston has paid tribute to Friends co-star James Michael Tyler hours after it was announced the star who played Gunther in the iconic sitcom had died aged 59
Jennifer Aniston has penned an emotional tribute to Friends co-star James Michael Tyler after the actor who played Gunther died on Sunday.
The star passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles following a battle with stage 4 prostate cancer, according to TMZ.
Shortly after the news was announced, Jennifer, who played Gunther’s love interest Rachel Green, shared a fitting post on her Instagram account thanking James for all the laughter they shared over the years.
The 52-year-old said: “Friends would not have been the same without you. Thank you for the laughter you brought to the show and to all of our lives. You will be so missed #JamesMichaelTaylor. [sic]”
Alongside her sweet words, Jennifer posted a popular scene of the pair from the sitcom as Gunther bid farewell to Rachel.
The scene saw Gunther tell Rachel he loved her as she prepared to leave New York – much to Ross’ (David Schneider) dismay.
She then ushered the famous words: “When I’m in a cafe having coffee or I see a man with hair brighter than the sun, I’ll think of you,” before giving him a kiss on the cheek.
She also posted an image of James from his days on the set.
