Thursday’s episode of EastEnders aired the fallout to the big reveal that Rocky was secretly Thomas Cotton, and not Terry Cant
EastEnders’ Tom Cotton, who is posing as Sonia Fowler’s father Terry Cant, was left trying to escape his evil plan with niece Dotty Cotton in the latest episode of the BBC soap.
Up until now, Tom, who has gone by the name Rocky, has claimed to be Sonia’s long-lost father and he’s been building a life for himself in Walford.
But Tuesday saw the big reveal that he wasn’t who he said he was, and was not Sonia’s dad Terry after all.
It was soon exposed that his name was Thomas Cotton, and he is the uncle of Dotty.
With this revelation came the dark twist that Dotty has trying to fleece Sonia of her grandmother Dot’s inheritance money.
Sonia is holding onto it until she can trust Dotty, after Dot made her power of attorney earlier this year.
Desperate to get her hands on the inheritance though, Dotty is tricking Sonia in the cruelest of ways – and has asked her uncle, Tom, for help with this.
But Tom is now feeling bad, after getting to know Sonia and he genuinely cares for her it seems.
Not enough to tell her the truth though, but the latest episode of the soap saw him trying to find a way to get out of the plan.
He had a chat with Dotty who was being vile about him and Sonia, and threatening him by claiming he had more to lose than her if it all came out.
Taunting him about being in the gutter until she brought him in to her plan, she made it clear their plan was still going ahead whether he liked it or not.
She also mocked Sonia and relished in the fact she was betraying her, claiming she deserved it after their recent run-ins.
But Tom appeared to get to work in stopping the plan as such, by trying to encourage Sonia to give Dotty some of the money.
It seemed he thought this way Dotty would be kept sweet, and Sonia would not have to be fleeced – after she considered putting some of Dot’s money into a business venture with her fake dad, not knowing the truth.

Dotty seemed happy with how fast things were moving, while Tom, pretending to be Terry, told Sonia she should give Dotty some money to help her out.
But Sonia refused, saying she did not trust her with it and said she would have to prove herself before getting any of it.
As Sonia left, Terry AKA Tom pulled a defeated expression on his face, clearly uneasy about the fact he wasn’t able to convince Sonia.
But how will Dotty react if she finds out he’s swerving their plan off course, and will Sonia learn the truth before it is too late?
EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
