EastEnders’ Ruby Allen’s fate ‘sealed’ as show confirms she’ll ‘meet sticky end’

EastEnders viewers are predicting a shocking death for Ruby Allen, ahead of pregnant actress Louisa Lytton bowing out of the BBC soap for her maternity leave

EastEnders bosses have confirmed Ruby Allen will come to a “sticky end” this autumn, sparking predictions she will be killed off.

The soap favourite, turned villain, is currently harbouring a huge secret amid tragedy for her and her husband Martin Fowler.

After suffering two heartbreaking miscarriages this year, Ruby and Martin have been exploring treatments to start a family together.

What he doesn’t know though is that she lied and had his ex Stacey Slater, the mother of his children, sent to prison for a crime she did not commit.

Stacey has been locked up for months but will soon return to the show, with her mother Jean learning the truth about what Ruby did.

Ruby lied that she had lost her baby during a fall at the club, with her claiming Stacey deliberately pushed her down the stairs.

She only recently told Jean the truth, and Jean is now desperate to expose her and get Stacey home – and it seems it will all come out in the coming months.

EastEnders boss Kate Oates has confirmed the end of Ruby is on the way, ahead of pregnant actress Louisa Lytton heading off on maternity leave.

Viewers are now predicting the actress will not return as Ruby, and that the character will meet a gruesome end – amid confirmation that a fire is set to hit Walford.

Kate told The Mirror: “We’ve got Ruby. Jean is intent on bringing Ruby down and clearing Stacey’s name, so Ruby is gonna come to quite a slightly sticky end.

“It will be fun to see how that plays out, and that means we’ve also got Stacey set to return.”

Fellow soap producer Jon Sen added of this: “Yes, so we have got Ruby and Jean and that is coming to a kind of conclusion.”

He then revealed all about Stacey’s return, confirming she won’t be heading back to Walford alone – as actress Lacey Turner returns to filming after her maternity leave.

Jon told us: “Stacey returns and that is gonna be huge as well. She will return from prison, as you know she went to prison after a false accusation from Ruby.

“She’s going to return with somebody she’s met inside in the form of a new character called Eve, played by Heather Peace.

“We are really excited about her and what that friendship is gonna be, as they have come back having shared a prison experience that has united them in a kind of very unique friendship, so that’s really exciting.”

Meanwhile, fans shared their thoughts on the Ruby teasers with one tweeting: “Think the grim reaper could be calling.”

Another said: “She better not die,” as a third tweeted: “Dont kill her off!”

A fourth wrote: “I hope they don’t kill Ruby off. She’s such an amazing, compelling character – one of my all-time favourites – and Louisa Lytton is so talented. Having her back these past three years has been a dream come true!”

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
