Alec Baldwin’s niece Hailey Bieber, whose father is the Hollywood star’s brother, penned a heartfelt Instagram tribute after the shock accident on Thursday
Alec Baldwin’s famous niece Hailey Bieber has said she is “absolutely heartbroken” over the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins at the hands of her uncle.
In a post shared with her 38.8 million followers, the 24-year-old supermodel said she is ‘absolutely heartbroken’ over Hutchins’ untimely death.
The director of photography was killed in a horrifying accident on the set of the Oscar-nominated actor’s new movie Rust, after a prop gun Baldwin was using reportedly misfired.
The film’s director and co-writer, Joel Souza, was also seriously injured in the incident, but was later released from hospital.
Hailey, who is married to pop star Justin Bieber, wrote: “Sending all my love to the family of Halyna Hutchins. This is a truly unimaginable and devastating tragedy,’ she started the note.
“My thoughts are also with Joel Souza as he recovers. I am absolutely heartbroken for everyone involved,’ she said in white letters against a black background.”
Her Stephen Baldwin, also requested prayers over the tragedy.
The devout Christian took to Instagram : “Asking for your prayers tonight friends not much can be said other than please pray for all involved in the wake of this tragic accident thank you.”
He cited Psalm 91 which reads in part: ‘I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.’
Alec earlier statement on the devastating incident, which took place on Thursday while filming the Western on a 2,000-acre ranch in New Mexico.
He said: “There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours.
“I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family. My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.”
The Departed star, who is father to seven children, sent his condolences to Hutchins’ family and friends.
