York Ebor horse racing tips: We can follow up 14-1 winner with Aidan O’Brien fancy to win at a canter on Wednesday

SUN Racing’s in-form tipster Callum Jamieson casts his eagle eye over York’s big week.

He is the man of the moment after picking Jumby to win the Hungerford at 14-1 – only to see him romp home at an SP of 9-1.

That came after his heroics in somehow predicting Pyledriver would win the King George at 18-1.

Here, he reveals two of his top tips for the Ebor Festival, which begins tomorrow.

GOOD WORK

KARL BURKE’S two-year-olds continue to fly and keep an eye on unbeaten MARSHMAN this week on the Knavesmire.

He was set for Goodwood before a last minute hiccup but will be very popular in Friday’s Gimcrack.

Burke has plenty of talent in the juvenile department but not much can stay with this chap.

WEEKEND WARRIOR

AIDAN O’BRIEN has been quiet in Britain this summer but AIKHAL might just have a big one in him before the season is up.

I fancy him to win the Group 2 Great Voltigeur at a canter on Wednesday.

A ROYAL JOCKING OFF

JAMES TATE could not be sweeter on the chances of Royal Aclaim in Friday’s Nunthorpe.

But whatever happens, the race will leave a bitter taste in the mouth of jockey Neil Callan.

The former Hong Kong maestro has been overlooked in favour of Italian Andrea Atzeni for the plum ride on the hot Nunthorpe favourite.

Trainer James Tate left the decision to the three-year-old’s owner Sheikh Juma over the weekend.

Juma plumped for Atzeni, but Callan was desperate to ride and had originally been expected to get the nod as one of Tate’s go to men since he moved back to England from Hong Kong last summer.

Callan is reportedly fuming with the decision and has let Tate know exactly that.

The 42-year-old rode the filly to win at Bath on her second start and only couldn’t partner her at York last time as he was unable to do the eight stone five weight she raced off.

Callan has since sat on the filly at home but was not on board when she undertook her last piece of work last Wednesday in Newmarket.

Tate then passed a note to Juma on Saturday after the horse was confirmed at the six-day entry stage of all the available jockeys that had put their hand up to ride the horse.

The pair both felt it was best to have one of the three jockeys that had partnered her so far in her short career to ride her again.

But there were plenty of other big names Juma could have opted for.

One man’s loss is another’s gain and Atzeni is in for a very busy Friday given he’s also kept the big ride on Lonsdale Cup favourite Stradivarius.

Atzeni even managed to wriggle out of riding Emaraaty Ana for his retainer Sheikh Obaid which only made it tougher for Callan to take.

Callan will continue to ride for Tate and has not thrown all his toys out of the pram. He’s booked on two of Tate’s this evening and tomorrow at Kempton.

The trainer expects Royal Aclaim to be too good in Friday’s Group 1 and is confident she can be the best horse he’s ever trained.

She looks the part physically and Tate has found nothing that can go with her at home.

She’s a skinny enough price given the horses she has beaten so far in just three starts, but this year’s renewal looks below par.

It looks her race to lose, just stay away from Callan if you see him on the Knavesmire that afternoon!
