IT may only be the autumn, but the line-up for Dancing On Ice 2022 is starting to be released.
The 12 celebrities set to take part are slowly starting to be revealed.
Who are the confirmed Dancing On Ice contestants?
Each week they will skate live with their professional partners in a bid to impress both the panel and the viewers who will ultimately decide who wins the show.
Celebrity names have been confirmed, with more set to be announced.
TV star Ria is taking part in Dancing on Ice.
She told ITV: “It’ll be fun. This is one of ITV’s most sparkly shows so when they asked me I was like absolutely, we watch it at home. It will be brilliant to learn a new scary skill.”
Ria added: “You’ve got to say yes to things that excite you, that are a little bit scary because that’s when the growth happens – I’m hoping so anyway!”
“I’m going to go on this journey and hopefully inspire mums, dads and everyone to give things a go.”
The silver medallist announced the news on CBBC’s Newsround and said: “I’m feeling good.”
When asked if he’s ever skated he said “I have [rollerskated] when I was younger so we’ll see how it goes.”
When he was asked how long he’d kept the secret, he said: “Only three or four weeks.
“I think I was the last person to get selected. I was told not to tell anyone and I’ve been waiting for the big reveal!
“My family knows. My dad and my brother roller-skate so I think they’re excited.”
Appearing on Loose Women he said: “I’m so, so excited. It’s been a while coming now.
“I’ve known I’d be doing the show for quite some time and I want to get started, I’m so excited to be on the show.”
On his ice skating experience to date he said: “I’ve had one go.
“I’m a fairly confident person and I like to think I’m going to be good at what I put my hand to or my feet to!”
Former S Club Seven star Rachel is getting her skates and swapping the stage for the ice rink.
Speaking on This Morning she said: “It now feels really real, this is really happening. I’m so excited, obviously really nervous. It’s one of those things, until you do it you don’t know what’s going to happen.”
On whether she has skated before, Rachel said: “Only with the Penguin with my kids you know every Christmas.
“I did it when I was 10 (years old) and dabbled in it for a little bit and I really loved it but I’m very wobbly.”
On swapping the sun for ice, Liberty told ITV: “I grew up watching Dancing On Ice and my mum actually used to be a figure skater.
“I ice skate as a hobby sometimes so I can get around the rink but I can’t do any tricks, no pirouetting or anything so I’m really looking forward to pushing myself and learning as much as I possibly can.
“Not just skating around the ice but actually dancing on ice. Bring it on!”
On taking to the ice, sportsman Ben told ITV: “I used to skate a little when I was a kid.
“I’d go to ice discos when I was 15, 16 (years old) and you’d always see these kids that could do pirouettes that had a proper dancing background.
“I like the idea of learning a new sport and a new skill.
“I’m quite competitive as well so I like the challenge of competing against others doing something that I’m not necessarily good at!”
Singer and dancer Regan is the son of legendary footballer Paul Gascoigne.
Speaking about joing DOI, he told ITV: “Obviously I dance and love dancing but it’s the skill of this.
“I’ve always wanted to do it. Always! Ever since I was a kid!”
Paralympic medallist Stef is taking on her next challenge by joining Dancing On Ice.
She lost her right foot in a boating accident when she was 16 years old.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, she said: “I have some really exciting news.
“I’m going to be picking up a new sport this winter and it comes with a little bit of showbiz.
“I’m going to be a contestant on Dancing On Ice and it’s a little bit scary but I cannot wait!”
Bez – real name Mark Berry – shot to fame in the 90s as part of the Happy Mondays, but has since then made a name for himself on reality TV.
Speaking on This Morning Bez said: “At the moment it’s more like Bambi on Ice, not Dancing On Ice.
“How I got picked I don’t know because I was absolutely awful at the audition but they must have seen some potential in me!
“I’m looking forward to learning a new skill and I can’t wait for the Christmas ice rinks again and I can get on there and really show off.”
Speaking to ITV’s Lorraine the soap actress said: “Now everyone knows I’m doing it I can’t back out can I?! And I’m so scared!”
Asked if she’s skated before, Sally – whose daughter is Bridgeton’s Phoebe Dynevor – said: “No never! I went with Hattie [her daughter] when she was little and I had a penguin and then thought this is too hard so I’ll go and get a coffee!”
She added: “This is a massive challenge, Lorraine.
“It really, really is. I’m not getting any younger, I’ve just got to take every opportunity I get so that when I’m old I can say you know what? I gave it a go.”
Who are the rumoured Dancing On Ice contestants?
Denise Van Outen
Denise sadly had to leave Dancing On Ice early in 2021 after suffering a horror injury to her shoulder during rehearsals.
A celebrity has never returned to the ice two series in a row, but The Sun revealed how this could happen for DVO.
Her skating partner Matt Evers has discussed rumours she could be making a big return on the show.
He told us: “There’s been a lot of comment online for ‘Denise and Matt 2022’, they have never really done that before.
“At this stage we are just looking at next week, but there is a lot of support for Denise to do the show again next year. I would love that.”
Reality star star Olivia has shown an interest in joining the show.
“I’d love to do the jungle. I’d give Dancing on Ice a go, although it does scare me,” she told RadioTimes.com.
“I’m a bit of a baby, so I don’t like getting hurt. I feel like the minute I fall over once, I’d be done. I know it sounds dramatic, but I’m just a bit like that.”
Former Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon is another name that has been thrown into the mix.
Former DOI star and Lucy’s ex-Corrie co-star Brooke Vincent would love to see her on the show.
She told the Daily Star : “I told Lucy Fallon that she should have a go, too.
“It’s mad how much support you get in your work place when you do something different, and that means a lot.”
