Kylian Mbappe’s blockbuster move to Real Madrid dominates the headlines going into transfer deadline day, but the La Liga side look set to land Eduardo Camavinga instead
Real Madrid are understood to have moved on from their blockbuster move for Kylian Mbappe to sign fellow Ligue 1 star Eduardo Camavinga on transfer deadline day.
Los Blancos have reportedly made several bids to PSG for Mbappe – their most recent topping £154million in total.
However, Les Parisiens appear to be in no mood to sell, despite the Frenchman entering the final year of his contract in the French capital.
That seems to have prompted Real to turn elsewhere to get business done by the end of the window that closes tonight.
According to Canal Plus (via GFFN ), the La Liga club are closing in on a move for Rennes wonderkid Camavinga.
The 18-year-old is also out of contract in less than 12 months time, and Rennes are not expected to stand in the way of the highly promising midfielder leaving.
It is claimed that the fee stands as low as £25m given his contractual situation, with just a few details to be sorted before he becomes a Galactico.
Camavinga has been linked with a move to PSG and Manchester United this summer, so the news will come as a huge blow to both clubs given the player’s huge potential and the low fee involved.
So while it looks like Mbappe will not be given his dream move to the Bernabeu, Real will still do some business on deadline day.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi spoke on the Mbappe saga following the Champions League draw last week.
He said: “I’ve been very clear, we’ve been very clear. The club’s stance is clear. We will not change it or repeat it.”
Meanwhile, PSG’s sporting director Leonardo confirmed to RMC Sport that Mbappe had informed the club he wants to leave for Real Madrid, but added the Spanish side need to up their bid.
“We consider the offer to be very far from what Kylian represents today,” said Leonardo.
“We also owe part of this money to Monaco and we consider that the offer is not enough. It is less than what we paid for him.”
He then hit out at the way in which Real Madrid have gone about trying to sign Mbappe.
“For the last two years, Real Madrid have been behaving like this, it is not correct,” said Leonardo.
“Illegal even because they contacted the player. It is unacceptable for us, because it is not correct.
“It is proof of the strategy: an offer comes 1 year before the end of his contract and 7 days before the end of the window.
“They want us to reject to show to Kylian that they tried everything and to start negotiating for next year.”
