An aggregate defeat by Real Madrid ended Liverpool’s Champions League dream earlier this week, meaning a top-four finish is the Reds’ only hope of salvaging some success this season.
In truth, Jurgen Klopp will be keen to see the back of a hugely disappointing campaign – and he will be desparate to bounce back next term.
Liverpool have been especially poor on the front foot in 2021 and are understood to be targeting options to bolster their attack.
Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe is a long-term target amid the uncertainty over his contract situation, while the latest reports on the continent claim Luis Suarez is being lined up for a sensational return to Anfield.
The Uruguayan plundered 82 goals in three-and-a-half years with the Reds and, aged 34, has shown he is as sharp as ever with his tally of 19 La Liga goals this season.
Also featuring an update on Rennes starlet Eduardo Camavinga, here is Friday’s Liverpool transfer round-up.
Reds ‘table Suarez offer’
Liverpool have made an offer to bring Luis Suarez back to Anfield this summer, according to reports in Spain.
The prolific Uruguayan left the Reds for Barcelona in 2014 and enjoyed a stunning six-year spell at Camp Nou before joining Atletico Madrid last summer.
Suarez has proved just as potent in front of goal for Diego Simeone’s side, scoring 19 goals in 26 La Liga appearances this season.
While the 34-year-old is under contract with Atletico until 2022, a clause in his deal means he is free to leave the club this summer if he chooses to.

Camavinga ‘eyed’ as Wijnaldum replacement
Liverpool may turn to Rennes’ midfield wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga as they look to replace Gini Wijnaldum this summer, reports the Daily Express .
Camavinga – a fully-fledged France international at the age of 18 – burst onto the scene last season and has made 30 Ligue 1 appearances this term.
The teenager is out of contract in 2022 and the report claims he has told his club he will not sign a new deal, meaning Rennes may be forced to cash in this summer.
Camavinga came close to joining Real Madrid last year and Los Blancos remain interested, but Liverpool are also in the race as Wijnaldum prepares to depart at the expiry of his contract.
PSG ‘change Mbappe approach’
Paris Saint-Germain have altered their approach to try and convince Kylian Mbappe to sign a new contract, according to reports in France.
Long-term Liverpool target Mbappe has stalled on penning a new deal for many months and is out of contract next year.
But PSG hope to find a breakthrough in negotiations by offering him a shorter-term deal which will keep him at Parc des Princes until 2024.
That’s according to L’Equipe , which adds the contract will be worth €30million (£26m) per year and will allow PSG to sell him in one or two years, when they hope he will be even more valuable.
