Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp’s firm view on ‘greedy’ Mohamed Salah claims

Jurgen Klopp has insisted Mohamed Salah’s greed is to Liverpool’s benefit after another scintillating season in front of goal for the Egyptian.

Salah’s tendency to go it alone has often been a contentious point with fans, but few can really argue given his consistently prolific performance at the top of the club’s scoring charts.

This season has been no different for the forward who, despite Liverpool’s desperate struggles, has still managed to weigh in with 31 goals in all competitions – 22 of which coming in the Premier League, which now has him in joint lead for the Golden Boot award.

It has now come down to a final day shootout between Salah and Tottenham’s Harry Kane to determine who will pick up the prize, and Klopp feels that alone is testament to the way his frontman has carried his side this season.

Jurgen Klopp feels Mohamed Salah’s greed is good for Liverpool

Klopp said: “It is easy to see where we would be without Mo’s goals – but that is also true for the other teams without their top scorer’s goals.

“I am not surprised at all, to be honest. We know the team helps him a lot but Mo carries a lot as well.

“It is his desire, it is his professionalism and it is his greed which helps us completely. Scoring these numbers is absolutely exceptional.”

Salah will be confident of adding more to his tally against Crystal Palace on Sunday as Liverpool look to book their place in next season’s Champions League.

The Reds sit fourth in the table going into the season finale knowing a victory would virtually secure them a top four spot.

Meanwhile Liverpool will be hoping Kane can at least help their cause in some way by stopping fifth placed Leicester picking up all three points, while Chelsea can still be caught in third if they do not beat Aston Villa.
