Liverpool’s rivals Manchester United could have fresh momentum if they install Ralf Rangnick until the end of the season, and it seems Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of his
Jurgen Klopp’s not often wrong, so Liverpool fans will have reason to worry considering his take on new Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick.
The Reds manager has been heavily influenced by his German counterpart and his previous assessment of Rangnick surely shows United are set to improve for the rest of the season.
Klopp and departing sporting director Michael Edwards aren’t often wrong in the transfer market, either.
In fact, even their ‘abandoned’ transfer plans seem to end up being the right call, with one star in particular proving just how good their judgement is.
It all comes off the back of Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday night, and the Liverpool boss and star man Thiago were both very impressed with one young player.

Thiago and Klopp in agreement
Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara may have lit up Anfield on Wednesday night with his thronking ‘thunderball’ goal, but he and his manager were in agreement about who was the real star of the show.
Klopp handed youngster Tyler Morton, 19, a Champions League debut during the match, and has been widely praised following his stellar performance.
Thiago in particular gave the young star some special praise which may shed light on just how highly he’s rated at Anfield.
‘Abandoned’ transfer plans revealed
Even when it goes wrong for Jurgen Klopp, it actually goes right.
In the summer of 2020 Klopp’s squad had several positions to fill, but bringing in back-up to Andy Robertson at left back was very high on the list of priorities.
The club ended up signing Kostas Tsimikas sign from Olympiacos for £11.75m, and the Greece international has been in very impressive form this season.
But the deal was only secured after the club abandoned plans to sign another player, the inside story of which also shows just how shrewd outgoing sporting director Michael Edwards is.
Klopp’s thoughts on new Man Utd boss
It appears Manchester United have made a decision on who they want to lead them forward for the rest of the season, and Jurgen Klopp’s a big fan of his.
German coach Ralf Ragngick is set to take over until the end of the season before moving into a consultancy role at Old Trafford.
The former RB Leipzig boss has developed quite a following in his home country, and it appears Klopp holds him in very high regard.
