Paul and Fury have been linked to a fight since both men picked up wins in August, but Paul has accused Fury of turning down a $1 million fight offer
Paul and Fury have been linked to a fight since Paul outpointed former UFC star Tyron Woodley in August.
Fury extended his unbeaten run to seven fights by defeating Paul’s sparring partner Anthony Taylor on the card.
The two had a run-in backstage at the event and have been linked to a fight ever since, but Paul has recently accused Fury of turning down a $1 million fight offer.
Tyson Fury – the half brother of Tommy – addressed the potential fight this week as he prepares to fight Deontay Wilder for the third time this Saturday night.
He told ‘Boxing Social’: “His name’s Fury. If he can’t beat Jake Paul he’ll have to change his name. How about that.”
Paul caught on to Fury’s comments and – in similar fashion to the ‘tattoo bet’ he placed with Woodley – issued a challenge to Tommy.
He said: “This is my official response to Tyson Fury. He just said that if his little brother ‘Timmy’ Fury loses to me that he will make him quit boxing and he’s gonna have to change his last name.
“He will no longer allowed to be Fury. So you know me, I’m a betting man I like to make bets. So I’m putting my money up right now. Tommy, if you beat me I will give you an extra $500,000.
“However, if you lose you have to change your last name for one year to Tommy ‘Fumbles’. Deal or no deal? I’m putting my money up. Sign, seal, deliver it.”
Paul agreed to a rematch with Woodley after defeating him and despite the UFC veteran recently going through with the tattoo bet, a second fight is seemingly off the table.
The internet star said he wants to fight “actual boxers” such as Fury and is past challenging former UFC fighters such as Woodley and Ben Askren.

Paul’s manager Nakisa Bidarian recently told Mirror Fighting that Paul intends to fight in December whether Fury is the opponent or not.
He said: “To everybody out there, $1 million for a fight of this magnitude is not even worth getting out of bed for. This fight is going to gross millions and millions of pounds.”
“We have not made a third offer. Jake has put his line in the sand in terms of what he wants to do. I think Frank and George Warren [Fury’s promoters] have been working on their side to try and figure out a solution.
“It’s not dead, but we definitely have another option lined up. Our intention is to do a fight in December, that hasn’t changed, Jake has made that very clear.
“Obviously everything has to make sense but usually what Jake Paul wants to do gets done so that’s the plan. I hope Tommy doesn’t become Tommy Danis and fumble this opportunity.”
