It’s game day for England as they prepare to take on Czech Republic in the Group D decider.
The Three Lions, though, will be without self-isolating Chelsea duo Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell, removed from the group after coming into contact with Scotland midfielder Billy Gilmour, who has tested positive for Covid-19.
It has thrown Gareth Southgate’s plans into doubt as they look to beat the Czechs and top the group this evening, with their place in the knockout stage already confirmed after Tuesday’s results.
Yesterday, Groups B and C were decided; Belgium and Netherlands topped their respective groups with victories against Finland and North Macedonia, while Denmark thumped Russia to progress and Austria saw off Ukraine to also finish second in their group.
That left Finland and Ukraine in third place in Groups B and C respectively on three points each – meaning England, Switzerland, Sweden, Czech Republic and France can celebrate reaching the last 16.

England’s place in the last 16 is already confirmed; but where will they finish in Group D?
That will be confirmed tonight in a straight shootout with Czech Republic.
Good morning and welcome to day 12 at the Euros.
Additional testing for England
Southgate revealed the England players were subjected to additional testing on Monday as a precautionary measure following the Scotland outbreak.
He added: “In terms of the testing, we had the mandatory PCR tests for the pre-game, and we’ve just followed that up today because of the situation that’s emerged with Scotland.
“It’s just belt-and-braces to make sure we’re OK for people to travel together and eat together.”
Mount, Chilwell doubts – Southgate
Asked if Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell will be fit for Tuesday’s game, Gareth Southgate said: “We don’t know at the moment.
“There’s obviously got to be quite a doubt but there’s still a lot of discussions and investigations going on behind the scenes, so at the moment they’re isolating and we just have to find out over the last 12 hours or so.”
One of our two England correspondents, James Robson, is up next, and is asking Southgate about Harry Kane…

Southgate press conference
Gareth Southgate has arrived for his press conference.
Mason Mount had been due to join the England boss, but given he is isolating, that’s obviously not possible – and the Three Lions have not been able to provide another player at such short notice.
Gilmour would have started for Scotland v Croatia
Steve Clarke is currently doing his media duties and confirms Billy Gilmour would’ve started tomorrow.
“It’s a chance for someone else to step up and be a national hero,” he said.
Mount, Chilwell isolating
England duo Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell are isolating after coming into contact with Scotland midfielder Billy Gilmour, who has tested positive for Covid-19.
The Three Lions are preparing for Tuesday’s crunch Euro 2020 clash with the Czech Republic.
But Gareth Southgate’s preparations have been rocked by news that Mount and Chilwell are having to isolate after coming into contact with Chelsea team-mate Gilmour.
A statement from the Football Association read: “As a precaution at this time and in consultation with Public Health England, Ben Chilwell and Mason Mount are isolating after interaction with Scotland player Billy Gilmour at Friday’s match.
“The pair will be kept away from the rest of the England players and wider support team, pending further discussions with PHE. The entire squad had lateral flow tests on Monday afternoon and all were again negative, as was the case with Sunday’s UEFA pre-match PCR tests.
“We will continue to follow all Covid-19 protocols and the UEFA testing regime, while remaining in close contact with PHE.”
Mount had been due to appear at the pre-match press conference alongside England boss Southgate.
