ITV’s The Chase hosted by Bradley Walsh has been an evening staple and a fan favourite since it first aired back in 2009.
Since then the show has spawned global spin offs that have even seen our much-loved British chasers take their vast knowledge overseas.
Chasers Mark Labbett, known as The Beast, and Anne Hegerty, The Governess, both travelled down under when the show launched an Australian version.
Anne joined the show in 2015, with Mark joining her a year later, but both chasers were unable to take part in the show’s ninth season in 2020 due to border closures caused by the Covid pandemic.
While Anne has now undergone a period of hotel quarantine in Australia to allow her to continue with work commitments, it seems The Beast is no longer taking part in the spin off show.
In addition to our much-loved, recognisable Chasers, the Australian version also features three brand new chasers that you might not have known about.
Brydon Coverdale – The Shark
Chaser Brydon Coverdale, nicknamed The Shark, has taken part in the Australian Chase since it began in 2015.
The 39-year-old has appeared on several Australian quiz programmes, including on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire where he won a total of $32,000.
The man from Victoria is also a reporter who studied journalism, and runs a news website about cricket.
He has two children with his wife Zoe, a daughter called Heidi, and a son, Fletcher.

Matt Parkinson – Goliath
Matt Parkinson has also been a chaser on the show since 2015, and has been nicknamed Goliath due to his large size.
He was a championship winner on the game show Sale of the Century in the 1990s and was a frequent member of the ‘brains trust’ on The Einstein Factor in the 2000s.
Matthew, from Western Australia, also has a career as an actor, comedian and radio presenter.
He is married to television producer Maryanne Carroll.
Issa Schultz – The Supernerd
Issa Schultz, also known as The Supernerd, is a seven-time winner of the Australian Quizzing Championships.
He ranked 23rd in the world at the World Quizzing Championships in 2020, and has also appeared on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
In 2017, he appeared as a celebrity contestant on Hell’s Kitchen Australia.
