Lacey Turner’s life away from EastEnders – from beautiful family to country home

EastEnders star Lacey Turner is best known for playing the loud and often mouthy Stacey Slater on the BBC soap opera, but her life away from the cameras couldn’t be further from her on-screen character.

The star lives a quiet family life with her husband Matt Kay, who she married in 2017, and their two children, Dusty Violet and Trilby Fox.

Lacey and her family live in a gorgeous home in Hertfordshire, north of London, close to the EastEnders Elstree studio where she has worked since 2004.

She often gives fans a glimpse into life with her two young children and her colourful and eccentric countryside home, which is a world away from the cramped flat her character lived in on Albert Square.

The kitchen of her house boasts gorgeous panoramic views of the surrounding Hertfordshire countryside, while the huge garden is surrounded by tall trees giving the celebrity and her family some privacy.

Speaking exclusively to OK! magazine last year, Lacey explained how she and husband Matt transformed their dressing room into a nursery for their first-born child.

She said: “We’ve turned our dressing room, which was attached to our bedroom, into a nursery for the baby and Matt’s given up his man cave, which had blue walls and a bar in it..

“We’re in the process of turning it into a playroom for the kids.”

The 33-year-old is also a pet-lover and has some canine members of her family.

In early 2020, she posted a snap of the latest addition to the clan – a cute puppy named Ned – while she broke the devastating news back in 2019 that her chocolate Labrador Dexter had passed away.

Although the soap star’s life may look nothing less than perfect from the outside, Lacey has had her fair share of heartbreak and challenges.

She has bravely shared her experience of two miscarriages she suffered in the past, one which she revealed happened on the set of EastEnders.

Opening up about her heartbreak last year, she told ITV’s Loose Women “It’s so hard, what do you say to people? I don’t want them to feel uncomfortable about it.

Although I felt so heartbroken, I just thought ‘I’ll brush that under the rug’… and then you think ‘Next time I’ll be fine.’”
