Love Island star Dani Dyer has bagged herself a role on EastEnders alongside her father Danny Dyer.
Dani’s dad has been playing the role of Mick Carter on the soap since 2013, but now his daughter will be stepping onto Albert Square.
It has been reported that the 24-year-old, who recently gave birth to her first child, has been temporarily cast as a taxi driver.
The star will be seen on screen in scenes alongside her dad, which is made easier due to the fact the pair are in the same Covid-19 support bubble.
A TV insider told The Sun : “Soap fans are going to be thrilled to see father and daughter acting opposite each other.
“Unlike some other celebrities who come on the show, she won’t be playing herself, she will be a cabbie who picks up Mick in the street.”
However, it’s believed the role will only be temporary as bosses don’t play to make an “ongoing character” out of the role.
The source added: “But it’s only a small role and not one which bosses are planning on keeping as an ongoing character.”
This is not the first time Dani has considered joining her father on the soap, as it was previously reported that she had eyed up a role, but had been turned down.
She told the Daily Star that she had considered the soap before her time on ITV’s popular reality dating show, Love Island, saying: “I don’t know about EastEnders, they wouldn’t let me in it.
“I think it’s because my dad is already on it so if I went on it there would be a massive outrage.
“They won’t let me, and are like, ‘it ain’t going to happen’.”
The star has proved her acting capabilities on numerous occasions, starring in films such as We Still Kill the Old Way, Age of Kill, and Bonded by Blood 2.
She also starred as an extra in many of her father’s films, including Doghouse, Run for Your Wife and Vendetta.
