A video has been shared on social media of a trolley that was sent flying into a car outside an East London Morrisons.
The trolley was seen drifting into a road near Becontree Leisure Centre in Dagenham, which is near the superstore.
As the trolley rolls into the road where cars enter the leisure centre, a black saloon car drives straight into it.
The trolley, with a loud bang, flies into the air and smashes into a Smart car parked on the side of the road.
The black car stops to inspect the damage ahead.
The owner of the Smart car posted a video if the incident on social media. He said: “To the inconsiderate people who leave their shopping trolley in the street instead of taking them back to the shop… think if the trolley was hitting a person or a kid instead of hitting my car!!! Please, stop being lazy and take them back!!!”
He shared a photo of the trolley and the damage to his car.

He said: “The car that hit the trolley I believe that he damaged his bonnet. My car’s back light has been damaged and a hole in the bumper at the rear.”
The Morrisons trolley is usually stored within the premises down the road but on this occasion, it was left on the side of the street.
Many residents were shocked by the negligence and were thankful the accident didn’t result in something much worse.
One said: “So sorry to see this happen to your car, laziness of the trolley person who used it. The damage to your car and the other car that hit it. Boils my biscuits.”
Another wrote: “They probably don’t care if it was hitting a person or child! Just totally inconsiderate.”
One recalled an experience where their car was similarly damaged: “My car was damaged when the wind blew a trolley left in an Asda car park on the pavement. Absolutely ridiculous that people think it’s OK to leave trolleys anywhere, anyhow.”
Thankfully, no one was hurt following the incident.
