The supermarket giant said it is dealing with an “issue” with its website and app as shoppers complain they are unable to buy essentials
Frustrated shoppers are unable to access the Tesco website and app, with the company confirming they have gone down.
The outage has left people unable to book deliveries, with many anxious about losing their slots and unable to amend existing orders.
The supermarket giant said the issue is being looked at.
Tesco posted on Twitter: “We’re experiencing an issue with our website and app and are working hard to get things back up and running. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
According to Downdetector, which monitors service outages, hundreds of reports of problems have been received in the past hour.
One user wrote on Twitter: “Must be a big issue as down 3 hrs plus. I assume you have switched the server off and back on again.”
Another posted: “Any idea when your App will be back up and running? I don’t want to lose my slot.”
Another shopper posted: “I’ve a click and collect order to complete before 12.15 and the website is not letting me, I have items to add and some items I no longer need in my basket.”
