Emmerdale’s Lawrence Robb has shared his disgust at former friend Kevin Guthrie who was found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman.
Lawrence, 29, who stars as Mackenzie Boyd in the ITV soap, was once “mates” with Sunshine on Leith actor Guthrie.
Guthrie, 33, was last week convicted of the attack on a vulnerable woman after she took ill on a night out and now faces jail.
During a four-day trial, Guthrie insisted he had only “helped” the woman after she fell ill. But the jury was told his DNA was found in her underwear.
Robb, from Kilmacolm, Renfrew-shire, shared his anger on Twitter.
He said: “I know Kevin Guthrie, there was a time in my life when I called him a mate. He is a guilty man and deserves to not work again.”
Guthrie, from Neilston, pounced on the woman in September 2017 at the Glasgow home of his friend Scott Reid, who played Methadone Mick in Still Game.
While Scott was in another room calling NHS 24, Guthrie pulled her top down and carried out sex acts on her as she lay on a bed. He stopped when his friend returned.
He broke down in tears after being found guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
Robb tweeted: “My heart bleeds for the victim. She is a warrior and one of the bravest people in the world!
“Men who are in similar positions to what Kevin was – just be careful. I think it’s bloody wonderful you are c******g your pants right now!”
Guthrie has also appeared in a movie of Sunset Song and is in the next Fantastic Beasts film.
Sheriff Tom Hughes told him he exploited the woman “while she was in a vulnerable position” and placed him on the sex offenders’ register.
