A Scots woman was left in shock after discovering a stranger she met at a bus stop in Glasgow was a convicted sex offender who later confessed he wanted ‘hurt her’.
Alana-Louise Black was horrified after the man she met on a night out later stalked her online before messaging her with the vile confession.
The 31-year-old received Facebook messages from the man asking her if she ‘got home okay’ before going on to ask if she knew he was a convicted sex offender who had ‘raped a lassie’ and ‘battered exes’.
When petrified Alana-Louise asked him if he wanted to hurt her he confessed ‘Yeah’.
Massage therapist Alana-Louise recalled speaking to some men at Buchanan Bus Station at around 2am on Sunday morning after she became separated from her friend and needed to get home to Kilmarnock.
The Daily Record has confirmed that the man, who we can only name as Sandy for legal reasons, is a convicted sex offender who was previously jailed for breaching his sexual offences prevention order.
When approached by the Record, Sandy admitted having sent the first message to Alana-Louise, but claimed the further messages were sent by someone who had hacked his account.
Alana-Louise, who has been left reeling from the frightening encounter and now realising the danger she was in, wants to warn other young women to be wary of who they speak to on a night out.
She said: “I’ve barely slept since this happened. I’m exhausted and I’ve been so ill, thinking about what could have happened to me.
“I spoke to him at that night thinking it was completely innocent. I told him my name and thought I was just being nice. Now I feel so stupid to think about what could have happened to me.
“I was so shocked that he came right out admitted he wanted to harm me.
“There was another man at the bus stop at the same time and I now believe that if I was alone, Sandy would have raped and beaten me like his messages say he did to other women. “
The chilling incident has now left Alana-Louise scared to leave her house alone while Sandy is still roaming the streets.
She added: “I always thought I was able to handle myself, but now I’m scared to go out without protection from a big group for fear I could be abused.”
Alana is convinced that sandy will offend again and has vowed to do all she can to work with the police to protect other females from him.
She said: “I am so frightened that he offends again.
“I have spoken to police and I will be giving a statement to their Sexual Offences policing unit.
“I’m scared he will hurt another girl and I think he’s just waiting for his chance to get his next victim.
“I think he was only at that bus stop that night to prey on a drunk woman who was alone.”
When contacted by the Record Sandy apologised for the messages he claimed were sent from his account by a ‘hacker’ and said: “I am deeply sorry that this is happening
“I would never send messages like that ever. It just shows what a f**ked up society we live in.
“Honestly that people would be so low to do this.
“Had to change my Facebook password this morning because of this.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We have been made aware of a report of a woman being sent inappropriate messages on social media.
“Enquiries are at an early stage and ongoing.”
