Real Housewives of Atlanta star Nene Leakes’ husband has tragically died his publicist Ernest Dukes has confirmed
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Nene Leakes’ husband Gregg has died at the age of 66.
The real estate investor’s death was confirmed by his publicist Ernest Dukes. He had been battling colon cancer.
Ernest’s statement read: “Today the Leakes family is in deep pain with a broken heart. After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very close loved ones and wife Nene Leakes.
“We ask that you pray for peace and strength over their family and allow them to mourn in private during this very very difficult time.”
The news comes days after Nene had announced to club-goers that her husband was “transitioning to the other side”.

After an onlooker allegedly called her rude for not wishing their friend a happy birthday, 53-year-old Nene took to the microphone to say: “You don’t know what we’re dealing with right now. We walked in this lounge because we had to walk in this lounge because this is our business.
“So, when people approach and say ‘you’re rude because you don’t want to say happy birthday’ — my husband is at home dying. I don’t want to say ‘happy birthday.”
“My husband is losing his life right now. My husband will not be here in the next couple of days.”
Their heartbroken son Brentt, 22, took to Instagram to share an emotional message: “Time is so…valuable dog. I can’t express it. I’m learning the hard way watching my dad fight every day.
“Please go create memories with ya people.”
Gregg was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in 2018 and looked to have recovered after going into remission a year later. However, Nene confirmed in June that his cancer had devastatingly returned.
The pair originally tied the knot in 1997 before getting a divorce in 2011. Two years later they reconciled and remarried in June 2013.

Fans and friends of the couple took to social media to share their condolences on Wednesday.
Host of the Real Housewives’ reunion shows Andy Cohen wrote on Twitter : “I am heartbroken over the passing of Gregg Leakes, a wonderful man.
“I jokingly called him “Pastor Leakes” but in truth he was a strong voice of reason & commanded great respect among the entire #RHOA team. I am sending love and strength to @neneleakes & the entire Leakes family.”
Singer Nicki Minaj also posted an emotional comment, saying: “Broken hearted to hear of this tragic loss. @neneleakes, tho I know nothing can stop the pain you must be feeling right now, I’m sending you love & strength.
May God cover your family now & forever – & equipped you w what your heart needs to move on. Greg [sic] seemed like such a loving, funny, dynamic person to be around. I can tell he’ll be greatly missed.”
