Piers Morgan tells moaning celebs to ‘get a grip’ and admit they’re grateful

Piers Morgan launched a scathing attack on celebrities who “play the victim”, telling them they should admit how grateful they are to be rich and famous.

The former Good Morning Britain host, who famously quit his role on the ITV show after refusing to apologise to Meghan Markle, didn’t hold back as he told famous people to “get a grip”

Taking to Twitter to vent about celebs, he fumed: “Is there any danger of a celebrity giving an interview in which they don’t play the victim but actually tell us how grateful they are to be hugely successful, rich & famous? The ‘woe-is-me’ crap is so disingenuous and so utterly exhausting. Just get a grip all of you.”

As usual, Piers’ opinion divided his followers.

While some begged him to return to breakfast TV in some form, others poked fun at his so-called “obsession” with the Duchess of Sussex.

Piers was accused of being bitter about the fact that one-time pal Meghan ghosted him after meeting Prince Harry as he publicly blasted the interview the royal couple gave to Oprah Winfrey.

The bombshell interview saw Meghan reveal she had suffered suicidal thoughts while she was pregnant with son Archie, but Piers said he didn’t believe a word she said.

His latest attack on the rich and famous doesn’t name names so it’s unclear exactly who Piers is talking about, although his tweet comes at a time when many stars are speaking out about trolling and their treatment in the industry.

One fan told Piers: “Totally agree and want to know when you’re back to sort out breakfast tv any channel would do but we need you somewhere!”

Another penned: “They’re so wrapped up in their world, they’ve forgotten how real people are suffering. To be alive, have your family, a roof over your head & a job to provide for the family is what many are struggling with. Most celebrities don’t have those issues. They should reflect on life.”

Not everyone was on his side though.

One wrote: “You’re a celebrity Piers. Let’s see someone interview you. We’d all like to hear how grateful you are to be successful rich and famous. And how that affects your interaction with other celebrities.”

While another asked him: “Maybe I’ve missed the point but isn’t most of your Life Stories subjects just that?”
