Parents praise a ‘boys pram’ from Asda and say it’s about time they were on sale

Thousands of parents have reacted to the news that popular supermarket brand Asda is stocking a toy that is traditionally known to be marketed to little girls but this time is aimed at boys.

Shoppers have praised the sale of a kids pram that instead of being pink, is blue and features dinosaurs.

The kid’s toy industry had been criticised in the past for creating too many gendered products for both boys and girls, with some saying they promote gendered stereotypes.

Parents have said this is a win for boys who will now have the chance to role-play being a parent.

This pram from designer Cosatto who are known for their novelty dinosaur themed products is sold for £25 in Asda and also features the print in pink.

These parents thought it was a win for boys who want to role-play being a parent

A mum posted a photograph of her find on a social media group for bargain finds and since then over four thousand people have liked and commented with some saying it about time a boys pram hit the market.

The original post said: “Not so much a bargain but great for little ones, Cosatto have started doing Dinosaur doll Parms for little boys! Found in Asda today for £25. They also had a pink Dino pram too.”

Quickly followed by praise from parents: “thank you! Been looking everywhere for one”

Another said: “Good, about time a pushchair is made a bit more boyish, yes girls and boys can play with a Dino pushchair, and yes it’s just a colour, but most buggies are aimed at little girls as if it’s aimed at one gender.

Someone else agreed and said: “And boys need to learn to be carers through play too, they grow up to be fathers, brothers, husbands, and friends”

“Not all boys like playing with pink and purple”

“It’s about time they brought a boys pram out!!”, said another shopper who thought it was only fair there are more options for little boys.

Others thought it was great that both boys and girls get an option to enjoy dinosaurs: “I’d say it’s for any child who loves dinosaurs.”

“Eventually, a dolls pram that’s not girly”, said another.
