Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen wows in bikini as family take dip in river

Amanda Owen and her family are making the most of the summer holidays.

And on Tuesday, the shepherdess shared with her social media fans what she and her brood got up to as the sun shined over their 2,000-acre farm in Yorkshire.

Cooling down from the warm temperatures in the area, Amanda posted a gallery of snaps showing her kids taking a dip in a river on the land and even treated her followers to a selfie where she could be seen modelling a navy blue bikini decorated with white polka dots.

The former model smiled at the camera as she captured the offering in front of a picturesque bridge.

Amanda’s hair could be seen blowing in the wind in the image and she toted a pair of sunglasses on the crown of her head.

In the background of the photo, two of Amanda’s nine children could be spied playing in some shallow water as they ran across some rocks.

Other snaps in the collection included captures of the family in the water as well as washing a pony and walking over the lush hills back to the farm cottage where they live.

Amanda captioned the post: “After an insanely busy time we have been enjoying a cooling off period.

“We’ve taken to the water but thought it apt that we share some brilliant advice & information from @theoutdoorswimmingsociety via a story on how to enjoy the water safely.”

Fans of the reality TV personality took to the comments to share how fun the afternoon looked.

One wrote: “beautiful place to chill- you all deserve it.”

A second echoed: “Wow you’re so luck living there I would have given any thinking to have lived there as a kid.”

More joined in: “Great photos. Nice to see you all enjoying yourselves” and “Looks great fun.”

Amanda recently spoke out after critics claimed she was ‘no longer being a shepherd’, due to sometimes stepping out wearing ‘a pair of stilettos and a body-con dress’.

Amanda told fans “it’s still all about the farm” and that her occasional glam appearances don’t stop her from being a shepherdess during an appearance on Simon Armitage’s BBC Radio 4 podcast The Poet Laureate Has Gone to His Shed.

Discussing the impact the hit TV series Our Yorkshire Farm has had on her life, Amanda told Simon: “It’s made me incredibly busy but, if you can imagine, it all began with books really.”

She said things started to change six or seven years ago and since then they have diversified like any other business.

She added: “Maybe it’s a bit of a strange diversification but if you can make living out of writing about sheep, and taking photographs of sheep, as well as wrestling them to the ground and shearing them, then all well and good.

“And anybody who wishes to say: ‘Well you’re not a shepherd anymore because you’ve got a pair of stilettos on and a body-con dress’.

“I will say: ‘Oh yes I am’, because it’s still all about the farm and all about the sheep at the end of the day.”

Amanda and her brood have won the hearts of many with their Channel 5 series.

The cameras follow the family on their sprawling Ravenseat Farm in Upper Swaledale, which is home to 1,000 sheep, 40 cows, six dogs and four ponies.
