SAS Who Dares Wins: Ulrika Jonsson rushed into ambulance

Ore Oduba was left unresponsive for half a minute after passing out in a river while filming Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

The 34-year-old TV presenter is one of the contestants putting themselves through hell on the Channel 4 reality show.

But it sounds like the star was lucky to escape the intensive training on the show with his life after events took a terrifying turn in the midst of the show filming.

Ore says he was pulled out of a river and had to be cared for while filming the current series – which was recorded in the Scottish Hebrides on the remote island of Raasay.

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, the former Strictly Come Dancing champion said he could feel himself “falling unconscious” while undertaking a challenge in a river.

He said: “They pulled me out and got me in the Jeep. The guys told me I was unresponsive for about 30 seconds.”

Ore’s frightening ordeal on the reality series is far from the first time a contestant has had to be rescued or given medical attention as they battle through SAS training.

Fellow 2021 contestant Kieron Dyer has already explained that some scenes had to be cut from the series due to the extreme injuries that the cast sustained.

The 42-year-old former footballer told last month: “They had to cut the pairs out because of the injuries and stuff.”

Indeed, Siara Khan, who is also on the 2021 series, said she was left with ‘life-changing’ injuries after taking part on the show.

The 51-year-old former Loose Women star told The Sun last month: “I was left with life-long scars, physical ones. That’s very hard to cope with.

“I am a very fit individual and to go onto a show and then have experienced what I did, I was in real shock. The show was great in supporting, but it’s gone beyond that. It’s gone onto something a bit bigger than that.”

Last year, Jake Quickenden had to be flown to hospital and endured four hours of surgery on his arm as he was injured while taking part on the show.

The 33-year-old has returned for the 2021 series, however, after recovering from his injury which was caused by hoisting a boat out of water, tearing his muscles.

Katie Price was forced to quit the 2020 series of the show after her breasts became “inflamed” while she was competing.

Explaining her reason to quit, the 43-year-old former glamour model told The Sun last year: “I pulled something in training. My breast reduction became inflamed. It was out of my control. I was gutted. I had to leave because of the pain I was in.

Yasmin Evans couldn’t walk for four days after her stint on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins

“I’ll never take my creature comforts for granted again. I left with new life goals. I left the old Katie up there. She’s not coming back.”

And DJ Yasmin Evans was rushed to hospital while filming the series in 2020 as she was hit with a severe case of trench foot which left her toenails “hanging off”.

The 30-year-old said at the time: “I was really, really sick. I ended up in hospital and couldn’t walk for four days.”
