Love Island may have finished but Faye Winter is determined to keep her relationship with Teddy Soares going strong by spending a few days away from him every week
Faye Winter has told fans she will be spending some time away from Teddy Soares to give each other space while they’re in the ‘honeymoon period’.
The pair reached third place on the Love Island 2021 final on Monday after a rollercoaster romance.
Speaking on an Instagram Q&A, Faye revealed the couple are planning on moving in together but she plans to keep her home in Devon which she will return to every week.
Faye said she believes not being around each other 24/7 will be good for their blossoming romance, which she said was still in the early stages.
“Me and Teddy are planning on getting a place together but it will be that I’ll still come home to Devon three or four days a week so he has his space and I have mine while we’re in the honeymoon period,” she said.
Like the rest of the finalists, Faye and Teddy are spending forced time apart as they stick to the Covid quarantine rules after flying home.
After months under the same roof the contestants have all returned to their respective home towns where they’ve pining for each other’s company.
Faye and Teddy had an eventful time in the villa, with most of the drama kicking off around Casa Amor.
Their first hiccup came thanks to a postcard from the second villa that showed Mancunian Teddy locking lips with Clarisse Juliette.
The move prompted Faye to couple up with Sam Jackson.
Teddy returned to the villa alone and was almost in tears at seeing Faye in the arms of another man.
After making his commitment clear, the pair made up and eventually re-coupled.
Faye also launched into a sweary tirade at Teddy after the movie night challenge in a row that became the most-complained about Ofcom moment of the series.
Speaking about their relationship after leaving the villa, Teddy and Faye discussed these disagreements in the villa and what it means for them to be together.
Faye explained: “I’m so fiery and Teddy is so cool. He is the coolest guy I know. He chills me out.”
Teddy agreed that it was definitely a case of opposites attract between them.
He revealed: “I’m the ice to her fire to be honest! Overall we have so much fun together, we take the p*** out of each other and we have our affectionate moments.
“We’ve got such a fine balance. Even the arguing, I think that’s healthy in every relationship. It’s just how you deal with it.”
And it looks like the couple will need to keep the fine balance as Faye said they would continue to do her voluntary work for the Guide Dogs Association and that they had spoken about getting a dog of their own.
Faye also told her fans that she was looking forward to catching up with all the Islanders at the reunion show and revealed which ones she would miss most.
“I will miss everyone that was in the final but obviously Sharon, Abby, Rachel, Mary and boy-wise, Brad,” she said.
The Love Island reunion is set to air on ITV2 on September 5.
