Ayrshire restaurant giant invests in complete menu overhaul for all venues

Ayrshire restaurant and bar operators Buzzworks have reopened all of their venues — with the biggest menu shake-up in their history.

The executive team from the hospitality firm challenged themselves during lockdown to reinvigorate their offering, injecting new flavours and dishes onto the menu, while modernising and enhancing venue favourites.

Guests will be welcomed with new menu offerings at all Buzzworks venues including Scotts in Troon and Largs, Vic’s & The Vine in Prestwick, Lido venues in Prestwick and Troon, The Tree House in Ayr, The Long House and The Duke in Kilmarnock, The Mill House in Stewarton and The Corner House in Kilwinning.

Led by chef director Trevor Garden, family founder and operations director Alison Blair and executive head chef Laurent Labede, the team invested countless hours in redeveloping menus across the portfolio through idea generation, research and recipe development to cook-offs and the final menu creations.

Mr Garden said: “By utilising fresh, seasonal produce from the fantastic Scottish larder, taking influence from global flavours and implementing a variety of new cooking styles, we have created stunning new menus to inspire our kitchen teams and customers alike.

“While our venues were not operating due to the current pandemic, we were able to invest more time than ever before in menu innovation and development, improving our kitchens and training our teams.

“We’re really proud of the final result and believe we’ve captured the essence of what people love about our venues, while making significant improvements to the quality, taste and diversity of our menu offering. We can’t wait to welcome guests back to our venues to experience this first hand.”

Some of the new menu items include yuzu-cured salmon, vegan nagasaki crunch, churrasco wood-fired chicken and boa buns with crispy duck or miso glazed vegetables.

As venues reopen, guests can expect hospitality in a relaxed environment to continue, alongside the adaptations made in line with the latest government guidance.

Menus will also be single use, but can also be viewed online by scanning a QR code on a smart phone in venues.
