Loose Women issues moving message to co-star after husband’s death

Loose Women panellists have issued a touching message to a co-star after their husband sadly passed away.

The ITV show started up with a sombre tone today as Charlene White, Jane Moore and Nadia Sawahla decided to pay tribute to Jane McDonald’s partner Ed Rothe.

Mr Rothe died of lung cancer in March it was announced after Jane’s social media account issued the sad news in a heartbreaking tweet.

The announcement read: “It is with immense sadness that we share the news that Jane’s beloved long term partner, Ed, passed away on Friday 26th March.

“He had been battling lung cancer for the last few months. We would like to thank everyone for all their help and support.”

And now Loose Women stars have issued a beautiful message to Jane after the tragic event.

Jane McDonald had brought partner Ed Rothe to Loose Women many times

The Mirror reports that Charlene said: “Before we get started, we want to send our condolences to our friend Jane McDonald, who has sadly lost her partner Ed Rothe to lung cancer.

“Ed was part of the Loose Women family for many years and we are sending Jane and Ed’s family all the love in the world.

Jane said: “It is really really sad, Jane has been here as a guest a few time since leaving the show, and he was always with her, always waiting in the wings.

“He was actually her rock, I know people overuse that word, but it must have been a tough old time for her, because she lost her mum, and now…”

Nadia added: “We are sending love, it must be a tough old time for her, we were all really shocked to see that news.”

Charlene said: “Grief is hard enough as it is, let alone at the moment, so to reiterate what the ladies have said, sending love to you and your family, Jane.”

Jane’s page told that a funeral for her beloved Ed – who was the former drummer of the 1960’s band The Searchers – took place today and praised the NHS staff who took care of him at The Wakefield Hospice in the months before his death.
